Outlaws of High Fashion

An outlaw of high fashion is exactly what it sounds like. In this collection I wanted to reach the people of the streets, the outlaws, the scammers & grammers. I wanted to give this crowd real streetwear with true tailoring. “Streetwear” is a term that was coined by some snide person working research for one of the bigger brands, and it’s had many names over the years; urban wear, hip hop fashion, street fashion. In its most basic sense, streetwear is whatever is trending amongst the black populous at any given time. Who sets the trend in this group you ask? Most would think that it’s the entertainers that influence the Dboys, but in actuality it’s the opposite. It’s the everyday people and the person that an artist was before the notoriety that sets the trend. The same way some rappers can imitate the trappers, but can never really be the real thing. Clothing designed outside of this understanding and connection to what and who streetwear represents can never truly be streetwear. It belongs to the streets…
